Topical treatments, sprays and mists, flea collars, shampoos, dipping products, flea combs, and oral tablets are some of the common products that you can purchase for your pet’s flea and tick problem.
You apply topical treatments to the skin of your pet. In order to prevent your pet from licking the medication, you place it behind the head between the shoulders. It is easy to apply this treatment. Adult fleas in your dog will be killed within 24 hours. Flea eggs and larva are also killed.
Flea and tick sprays and mists are administered from a spray bottle. Cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens can be sprayed with this treatment. It can instantly kill fleas and ticks on contact. It also kills flea eggs on the animal so that the life cycle of the flea is broken. It also prevents re-infestation because of its residual effects.
Dogs and cats can also use flea and tick collars. There are different sizes depending on the size of your pet’s neck. In order to kill fleas or ticks, these plastic collars release insecticide. Somehow only the head area is where you find its effectiveness.
If you want to kill all the fleas and ticks in a dog at a particular moment, then you can use flea and tick dips. This is ideal for outdoor dogs that are infested. You dip your pet in a solution up to their necks or sponge it all over their bodies and then let it dry on them.
Shampoos are also effective in relieving you pets of fleas and ticks. Shampoos, though have no residual effects. Shampoos also help dog’s skin conditions and you will have a really clean one.
You can also remove fleas from your pets without using pesticide by using a flea comb. The narrow gaps between the comb’s teeth can catch fleas or else they are forced to jump off your pet. You should cover the whole are of your pet’s coat to remove the fleas from your pet. After each run, dip the comb in water and leave any fur caught in it in the water. It is the soapy water that will kill the fleas.
